U.S. Department Of Energy (DOE)

Pursuant the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Fossil Energy order issued on March 5, 2019, Venture Global Calcasieu Pass LNG was authorized to export a total combined volume equivalent up to 620 Bcf/year of natural gas from its Cameron Parish, Louisiana export facility to free trade agreement (FTA) and non-FTA countries for a period of 25 years, to commence on the earlier of the date of first export or seven years from the date of the requested authorization. On April 22, 2022, DOE amended this order to authorize Calcasieu Pass to export up to 640.666 billion cubic feet (Bcf) per year of domestically produced liquefied natural gas to FTA countries. Approval of Calcasieu Pass’s requested non-FTA volume increase is still pending.

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)

On February 21, 2019, the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued the Order Granting Authorizations under Sections 3 and 7 of the Natural Gas Act for the Calcasieu Pass LNG export facility and the TransCameron Pipeline. The FERC Order allows Calcasieu Pass LNG and TransCameron Pipeline to site, construct, and operate the Project in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. Calcasieu Pass LNG and TransCameron Pipeline were assigned the docket numbers CP15-550 and CP15-551, and filings can be found and read in full at FERC’s website.

Regulatory Permits and Approvals

Calcasieu Pass LNG and TransCameron Pipeline have worked with the U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Louisiana Department of Energy and Natural Resources, and various agencies of Louisiana and Cameron Parish to obtain all necessary permits and approvals for operation.
